During the winter break of 2014, my friend and I decided to travel to London, UK. It was a long time coming, since we have been trying to make this trip happened for years. So, December 16th, all packed up and ready to go, we head towards British capital. Naturally, we visited all the most important attractions during our limited stay.
First things first, some of the mosts iconic sites and attractions of the city: The London Eye, Big Ben, The Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, The Shard, and Hyde Park.
We went the different museums around London, mainly the Natural History Museum, the Tate Modern and the National Gallery. It was so great for me as an art enthusiast to see paintings from some of my favourite artists, up close and in real life!
We also visited the Sherlock Holmes Museum and the Harry Potter studios, which was very exciting for us as both are very beloved characters to us and are a big part of pop culture.
One of the most rewarding experiences of the city for us personally, was the walk along the river and through the city, which is always booming with activity and we could see all types of people and holiday-related street attractions! I especially loved photographing the different sorts of festive decorations like Christmas trees and lights.
Another one of the most exciting parts of our trip, was the fact that the city was promoting the film Paddington, by placing 50 different Paddington statues scattered throughout London. When we first found out about it, we checked the map online to follow the Paddington trail and we tried to find them all. Sadly we only ended up finding about 30 of them, but it was still very fun to search through the streets, and find the bears, each with a different and unique design!
